Are there any regular restaurants with vegan options on the menu?

I always have trouble finding the right place to go out to eat with friends since I'm the only vegan in the group. Is there any restaurant with regular food (Chinese, Italian, anything really...) and with some vegan options in the menu?

In New York City and the five boroughs.

Thank you!

Why not just go to the many delicious vegan places in NYC there are tons of them and tons with vegan options but honestly the vegans ones are so good your "friends" won't miss the exploitation and abuse they so enjoy inflicting on others.

Here are my personal favorites within NYC:

    Soy and Sake

    Red Bamboo

Foodswings (vegan fast food so so so good)

    Curly's Vegetarian Lunch

and you gotta end up at Lula's Sweet Apothecary for the best ice cream ever and it just so happens to be all vegan (it is homemade and some of the toppings are also homemade)

If your friends complain after eating at these places send them to me and I will set them straight. I have eaten at some of these places many times and if I could eat at these places in rotation for the rest of my life I think I would be pretty happy.

There are 54 all vegan places and 84 vegetarian places in the NYC area. Why go anywhere else!

Also if you want healthy John Joseph of the 80s hardcore band CroMags and author of the book "Meat is for *******" can help you out:

Anything at Candle Café, Angelicas Kitchen, or Caravan of Dreams [NYC].

If a restaurant has any pasta dishes on the menu, you can probably ask them to prepare you a vegan pasta dish, even if it isn't on the menu. It will probably have some olive oil, garlic and veggies. Be sure to request that it is vegan because many pasta dishes will otherwise contain cheese (even if it's just a little parmesan)

  • You live in NYC? Are you kidding me? There are TONS of vegan, vegetarian, and veg-friendly places in the five boroughs. Check out www.happycow.net. I always go there before my boyfriend and I visit NYC, but we go to veg places only.

Avoid the chains, and you should be okay. Asian food is pretty good, but watch out for fish sauce. Most Indian places should have some veg options. Middle Eastern is also good.

I eat out at Steakhouses regularly, and I'm vegan.

    Chips and salsa?

    Vegetable wraps?

    Fries?

    Veggie plate?

You could at least get a salad, no?

    It's not at all difficult,

and I live in KENTUCKY, whereas you live in one of the biggest cities in the world.
