Food safety question?
My boyfriend brought me a deli turkey sandwich from his work today while I was working. He made it around 8 and showed up at my work around 10 with it and, at 11:30 I started eating it, not even thinking. I'm feeling fine, it seems fine, the sandwich was still cold but for the hour and a half I had it, it had no refrigeration and I feel like it was in his car in 25 degree weather for the couple hours before I got it. Is that a food safety issue of is it still safe to eat? Thanks guys, have another half that I'd like to eat...

According to the Oregon Food Handler Manual, most food can be in the danger zone (45° to 140°) for four hours without risk. Some exceptions are: cooked pasta and potatoes, and pooled eggs.

I'm sure it is just fine, I would definitely eat it. You can also smell and see when food is starting to go bad especially if there is any mayo on the sandwich.

The temperature danger zone is 41F-135F.
Also, food can be kept in the TDZ for up to 4 hours, so you should be fine.
Also, when I was in elementary school, I would take my lunch to school at 8 and eat it around noon and my lunch (turkey sandwich included) just stayed in my backpack! After 6 years, I never got sick:)

It's fine! Just like packing a lunch in a lunch bag and taking it to school :)
