The way I understand it, only certain characters can leave the Dragonborn an inheritance, and being married to someone doesn't give the spouse that ability. The list of NPCs that leave inheritances and the list of NPCs that you can marry do have some overlap, so it is possible to get an inheritance from your spouse. Since you're talking about your husband, we can narrow the list to the list of male NPCs that can both be married and leave an inheritance. If your husband was in this list, he will leave you an inheritance:

Angrenor Once-Honored

Benor

Belrand

Moth gro-Bagol

Octieve San

Pavo Attius

Roggi Knot-Beard

Scouts-Many-Marshes

Sorex Vinius

Torvar

If he is listed here, try waiting in his hometown or the city where your marital residence is located; outside, preferably. On the plus side, if your husband owned a house, it's now yours. All the items in it should now be marked as unowned, and you can take them w/out incurring a thieving bounty and can sell them. (How sad...) You can also sleep in the house for the Well Rested perk.

BTW, if you're playing on the PC, you can get remarried using console commands. If you're not, you can't get married again, sorry.
