Why do people practice veganism?
All studies show eating lean meat is healthy for your body and brain. Why would anyone deprive themselves of it?

You could say that its safer to drive somewhere rather than cycle, but what about global warming?
Thats a bit of a bad analogy, but you get my point. You have to look at things from different angles - (some) vegans refuse to eat animal products because they believe they are saving the environment (I believe they are too - I'm only vegetarian). You can't just assume all of them plan their diets poorly and are deprived of nutrients.

I never had to practice veganism; I'm a natural. :)) No pun was intended, but it is natural.
And no, there are studies (and actual demonstrations) that show ANY meat interferes with proper digestion and over-works organs.
Most people are deprived, hence the cravings, emotional problems and addictive behavior. They're not getting what the body's designed for: 15+ servings of fruit and veg a day. Since going frugivore, I now feel free.

Some people go vegan and/or vegetarian because of the way the animals are treated. It (to my knowledge) usually has nothing to do with the food, but the animal. i.e: Cows used for milk are treated very badly and often abused. Vegans want this to stop, so if everyone stops eating milk, the demand will go down and less animals will get abused.

Just because eating lean meat is healthy, doesn't mean that not eating lean meat is unhealthy. We can be perfectly healthy without any animal products in our diets.

Veganism is opposition to animal commodification, and the resulting lifestyle.
Diet is but one small aspect of that lifestyle, but even that encompasses far more than abstaining from meat consumption.
And, actually "all studies" indicate that the more animal protein one consumes, the more likely you are to develop dietary-related diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
Something is seriously wrong with someone who feels "deprived" eating fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and the rest of nature's bounty.
Personally, I don't eat meat because it nauseates me, it's unhealthy, it involves gross waste of resources and environmental putrification, and, oh yeah, IT'S THE DEAD FLESH OF SENTIENT BEINGS.
