Healing Time for Nose Piercing?
I had a nose piercing done three weeks ago. My question is this: when they say that healing time is 2 to 4 months, does that mean I'm susceptible to infection or simply that if I remove the stud the piercing will close? Am I out of the woods in terms of higher risk for infection?

My nose piercing only took about 2 - 3 weeks because my piercings heal very fast but the latest a nose piercing should still be nonhealed is up to 2 months, if your piercing is taking longer than this then i highly advise you to see your piercer. I reccomend using bactine to clean the piercing. The piercing can also take longer if pierced with a piercing gun, this is very dangerous because the piercing gun breaks the cartledge. If pierced with the gun it can take up to 1 year to heal. To clean the piercing with bactine i reccomend you spray about 3 squirts of the solution in a CLEAN q-tip and cleaning it on the inside and out, do this twice a day. Then you need to push the ring in and out 1 time because you dont want to irritate the piercing. If any keiloids (bumps from infection of irritation) appear start cleaning twice a day with slightly warm sea salt water. If this doesnt work, take the piercing out, let it heal and when you feel you are ready you can always get it done again!!!

It means you should not remove the ring or stop cleaning it for the ammount and even after that estimated ammount of time. My nose piercing took about 4-5 months to heal and it still gets bumps every once in a while. Make sure to continue cleaning it well for about a year and you can change the ring in about 4 months.

Its both, actually. It really just depends on the person and how fast they heal. Minde didnt FULLY heal til around 6-8 months, but I changed it at 3 months (which you can too,if yu changed it any sooner it'll get infected. Happened to all my friends who changed it before 3 months xD) Hope I helped!
