Can you help me with these questions please?

how do I figure out 38% increase of 750 and another one is 40% increase of 420. Can you give me the answer AND explain how to get that answer because i dont get it.

    38% increase of 750

    If 750 is the initial amount, 750 = 100%

    If 100% is converted to a decimal, it would equal 1.00

    You are looking for a 38% increase, which would equal + 0.38

    To find the answer multiply 750 by (1.00 + 0.38)

    The same steps apply for the second problem, only the numbers need to be changed.

    40 % increase of 420 means = 420 + 40% of 420

    = 420 + (40/100) * 420

    = 420 + 168

    = 588

    Similarly 38 % increase of 750 means = 750 + 38% of 750

    = 750 + (38/100) * 750

    = 750 + 285

    = 1035
