What do you think of French football?

Whilst living in Strasbourg I wrote this article on Ligue 1's struggles to compete against foreign leagues:

I think PSG's money's important for French football because not only does it attract top players to Ligue 1, but it advertises the league to other millionaires.

I watched PSG vs Montpellier a few weeks ago and I thought it was an incredible game. There was some real talent on show. But whilst the Ligue 1 clubs are unable to compete seriously against the Italian, English and Spanish clubs in the Champions League, most of the young talent's always going to look to leave l'hexagone.

I also watched Lyon vs APOEL last night and I thought Lyon were terrible.

I think Ligue 1 needs further development so that clubs can keep the best talents.

Yes, French football is not that bad in my opinion, i think France produces good players. The league is still one of the best in the world to me.. But in the European scene, french clubs were not really good this year and the National Team had still much to do for get the fan's confidence again, but they currently make a 17 game streak without lose, i wish they make something good at the next Euro. Hope we will celebrate the title in the Champs-Elysées, who know ;)

My opinion of the French League has always been that of a feeder system for the EPL. (Think minor leagues for baseball.) I have seen the league vastly improve in the past few years but the debacle in the last World Cup has still left a sour tast in my mouth.

Not trying to be insulting, but that is my opinion. Still better than the MLS.....

i've been a fan of Lyon for quite some time and after PSG acquired Pastore, i've been following them as well. the French league is good

Any country that can produce:

Platini, Zidanne and the French team from the early eighty's is alright by me.

Don't really like it, the team I like is Olympique Lyon thoug, dissapointed about the UCL =(
