Needing advice for a project. picture included?
I want to make free standing poles from birch trees to string lights on. The birch poles I have a fairly thick and I worry about them being top heavy. I wanted to fill galvanized pales with cement to anchor them, but I don't want the trees to be permanently stuck for transportation issues.
Any ideas you would have for what I am trying to accomplish would be greatly appreciated. I just want the trees to be able to be pulled out of the cement after it hardens. Thanks ahead of time!

Get PVC pipe from the builders store that is slightly larger in diameter than your birch poles. Cut pipe into pieces that are slightly less than the height off the bucket, and set each piece in a bucket with cement. Make sure you close off the bottom of the pipe, so that it doesn't fill with cement. When dry, your poles should stand inside the pipe. Cover the top of the wet cement with dried moss if you want, to disguise the cement.
