Crashing your car on purpose?

When I drive I'm scared that I will crash on purpose. When I'm at a 4 way intersection and have a red light I'm scared I'll take my foot off the break and go into traffic. I'm scared I'll purposely swirve into oncoming traffic. Does anyone have this issue or know what it means?

Everybody has this thought that they could potentially cause catastrophe with one simple action and know the results would be horrific, however there's a difference between thinking about it happening and WANTING it to happen. Obviously you don't want it to happen because you said you're scared of the idea, but us being scared of actions having negative consequences is what stops us doing them in the first place. Humans by nature take far more care in situations which are likely to be harmful. Drive carefully and don't endanger your life of those of others.

It's probably the "what-if" factor, you're curious as to what would happen.. if you ever think you might actually act on this for some reason, or feel like you're going to while driving, pull over & stop. Get home and call a doctor and ask.

You can get help probably, although I don't know what would cause this, but it's not a joke or funny when you could be hurting yourself or someone else.

Ever hear of chaos theory? You know, the "what if that butterfly hadn't flapped its wings, and scared the cat, which spilled the milk, which made the girl late for school, which made the father angry, which made him preoccupied while driving, which made him crash into your car."

    Yeah.

Think about that next time you want to take your foot off the brake.

i know what you mean. i have ocd and i constantly get the fear of doing that, hitting a car, running over someone, going too fast and the person behind me get pissed off (same with going too slow). and then i get urges that i'll run into something like a tree or a stopped car or hitting someone. and when im passing a parked car in the road, i get the feeling i'll run into it or clip it. then i get nervous that im too close to the curb or too close to the yellow line. what sucks too is that it gets pretty bad and gets worse the longer i drive.

I don't have this issue. However, I am a horrible driver without my adhd medication. Maybe a cup of coffee or a energy drink would work for you?
