Take a lemon, cut it in half, and rub the juice on any areas that are retaining the smell. This includes the the table, any cutting boards, cooking surfaces, even your hands.
For the surfaces, let the lemon juice sit for several minutes (I generally give it about 10 minutes), and then just take a warm soapy sponge and wipe everything down.
For your hands (if necessary), only wait about 5 minutes, then wash your hands thoroughly and *Moisturize Immediately After* (pure citrus is very drying on skin).
For the scent in the air, I will usually take the used lemons, after I've rubbed them on needed surfaces, and put them in a bowl of warm water. The lemon scent will permeate the air and knock out whatever odor is left.
That's it. This will also work for garlic, onions, and even curry. And it's a more natural choice than some type of chemically-laden spray (and cheaper, too).
