You can block the website fr yourself. Try using "Website Block Extension". It'll block ceratin things on your computer (Like certain websites) for a certain amount of time and you can't enter it until the time's up.
Set: Block Yahoo Answers for an hour (Or howlong you need to study for) and after an hour you can use it again.
I Do it with Facebook when I should be studying :))))

absolutely. my little sister sold her soul to the computer after discovering Yahoo! Answers.
Anything can become an addiction when it interfers with your normal life. So yes, Y/A could easily become an addiction for many people.
i think that... limiting your time on the internet would do wonders for your condition..
And at this time this is more important to you than your studies. When and if you decide that your studies are more important than the feeling you get from the Internet, then you will stop. That's all. I have faith in your ability to make your decisions and accept the responsibility.
Best wishes Bro.No WoRRies...:)

Just don't log in. There has been nothing new on Y!A in 6 yrs that is worth you not getting an education for. Y!A won't get you a job or feed your family some day. Allow yourself half an hour after your homework is done. Now go!

The good idea is to operate the yahoo mail after 2 to 3 days then you see the new question is loaded and u must use it in your free time only do not avoid the other important works.

Your laptop is not responsible for what you use it for. You are weak from in side. So try to develop will power/ the power of determination. It all depends upon how strong is your will power.
If you want to prove your strength reduce the use of Y/A to 2 hours in 24 hours. When you achieve it further reduce it to 1 hour.

Just think how your future would be if you don't stop using yahoo answers instead of study. And think that you have time to check it when you aren't studying, there's time for all.

Dont worry - be happy.
U may become a well known programmer like Bill Gates one day without completing your studies.
All the best.

You'll wish someday in the near future that you hadn't
wasted your "time" on Y!A...Q&A
Stay yourself off here until your homework is completed..
that will be your "reward" for completing your homework.
Good luck~ stay the course... ie. GOAL!!
always,
Ladyitch
p.s. Be your own best friend for now
~ trust me Y!A will still be here when you return !! :)

Thanks for asking this question. There was a time when I did abandon my faith systems in order to gain points on yahoo answers, and I paid a price at the expense of a loved one. It didn't make me feel too proud of myself. My integrity also took a hit because my competitive nature wanted me to go for points at the expense of my faith. I now am back in the groove with God. My spirituality emcompasses my entire life, including when to know when to back down from exercises such as this. I used to easily do 1000 points on a weekly basis with YA, now I fully concentrate my energies towards my spiritual side. I will not lose focus again because I left myself wide open to negativity and a loss of who I truly was, and it reflected upon my relationship with a loved one. I now have regained a lost footing in that my relationship with God supercedes my entire livelihood, and everything else takes care of itself. I'm back...
