Dogs licking your injuries?
So i got a minor cut on my ankle. My dog faithfully noticed and came to take care of it and wanted to lick.
I have seen mixed options that dog saliva is actually health and good. Or can you trust an Animal thats sniff others asses and drinks from the toilet to help you?
So if you had a minor injury is it okay for a dog to lick?

This might be the case, but for me, I prefer to rely on good old washing and using an antiseptic - and covering it up!!
Add Exactly Dominick - you don't know where your dog has had his face, before he's licked your open wounds!!!

i trust my dog when she licks any small cuts becuase i know she doesnt eat her poo and she cant reac her va...her privates but many times even if she does i still wash it and plaster and so on. but mythbusters has proven that human spit is more jermy than dogs... Its all to do with whether you want to risk anything really. Hope i helped :)

I have read that dogs and cats have cleaner mouths than us, and they lick their own wounds, so it won't hurt you. You should still put anti-septic on that and a band-aid.
