My PC contains viruses but my antivirus is unable to detect?

I think your antivirus is not sufficiently updated. If it isn't so update it regularly. Or change your antivirus with AVG 2012 internet security , it works fine. install it and see the results. It has many components to protect your PC.

Antivirus is something of a misnomer as they can only respond to what they know about hence the need to constantly update them. Any new or modified viruses can easily slip by undetected.

You can try setting the Scan to a higher level of detection. Avast can run in safe mode so maybe boot up into that then run scan on higher level in Safe Mode.

What does the virus actually do??? if you be specific we can try sorting out the problem without any software or online scans(which i think are a bit risky)... there must be some file in your pc which is responsible for this error that you say... just locate that file and delete it...

it is really great antivirus +internet security or you can use quick heal total security 2012.both are good

Update your anti virus. some of the anti virus program are able to detect only few kinds of virus only.

it helped me alot b4 and also when it will SURELY delete the virus plan to get a new antivirus

Youll just have to boot in safe mode f8 and run super anti or run r kill 1st then the super antis etc.

try online scan it will work nice

or change your antivirus

use some effective antivirus like

kaspersky,ESET NOD,avg

that may help you......
