Unless there's anything particularly bulky or offensive, I do "garbage duty" once a week - and I do procrastinate, leaving it to the last moment, i.e. the night before it gets picked up (the vehicle comes round very early in the morning). In my neighbourhood, each household is provided with three wheelie bins - for garden refuse, domestic refuse and recyclable materials (paper and plastics). I am fairly conscientious when it comes to recycling, so my actual domestic refuse is not huge - kitchen output constituting the greatest proportion. Even after a week, the kitchen bin is rarely brimming over but there have been the odd occasions when I've continued to cram stuff in rather than just empty the damn thing. Isn't it amazing the lengths we go to, to avoid a task that takes only a minute or two?
