What's a good, not too expensive paintball gun? (Specifics in additional details) NOT TROLL?

I recently went paintballing (just yesterday, in fact) to the Skirmish USA Stalingrad battle. It was great, but because I don't have my own gun, I received their Tippman 98, and it didn't really work out great. So, I'm wondering what a good gun would be fore that kind of scale of battle. I'm looking for something that's fairly accurate, I can shoot fast with if I need to, and is in the 50-300 (I'll go higher if the reviews and recommendations are good enough) dollar range. If it helps, it's a pretty large scale battle (Especially the invasion of Normandy game, look a video up and you'll understand). (Don't be confused by my picture, this is not a troll post.)

Big games, regular games, gear recommendations won't vary much. Any gun can work well in large scenario games like that.

Any tippmann works well, despite you not having good experience with a rental. Rentals are base models, so no upgrades, are barely serviced regularly, and get used and abused a TON. Plus, you have to shoot field paint only, which always isn't the best. So experiences with rentals will differ from actually owning the gear, maintaining it yourself, having the upgrades you want on it, and being able to choose better paint to use. Popular choice cuz they're hard to break (important for players who don't take care of their stuff), and they can all use co2.

Spyders & Azodins are other good choices. Same level of performance, but usually lighter & more compact guns. Cheaper than their Tippmann counterparts. These can also use co2.

Moving up in performance is the Gog Envy or G1. Same gun, really, just the G1 is a milsim version. Then the Gog Extcy, which operates the same but has better features. Extcy can't use co2, though, so you'd need an hpa tank (compressed air).

Along the same lines as Gog are Dangerous Power guns like the E1 and G4, just both require hpa. Dangerous Power guns also have a history of needing a fresh lube job right out of the box, and not with their own lube, since it's crap.

Along the same lines performance-wise but operating very differently, is the Invert Mini. It's slightly out of your budget range, but if it fits your preferences, you may want to go that route. Like its name implies, it's small & light. Requires hpa.

After that, you'd be getting too far out of your price range. Keep in mind you'll need to purchase a loader & tank separate from the gun, so include that in your budget or make a separate budget for those. Tank & loader together will cost you at least a $100 extra.

Accuracy depends on barrel quality and, most importantly, paintball quality. Field grade paint you used with the rental is not high quality stuff, so the balls aren't perfectly round, may even have some dimples. Stuff like that doesn't fly very straight. But getting mid-grade paint will get you some decent accuracy, provided you get it fresh (wherein the paint hasn't sat around long enough to form severe dimples).

Nerdcore pretty much covered it all.

In my opinion I would go with a TIppmann for a first paintball gun. They're not the nicest looking guns, but they're the most dependable.

The TIppmann 98 you had was probably a rental and in general, paintball fields don't take very good care of them. They get used and abused all day every day, year after year. They get cleaned maybe once or twice a year if at all.

Believe me, I used to be a paintball gun maintenance tech for my field here. I pushed and pushed the owner to let me spend a weekday just cleaning all the guns, but he said no it's unnecessary.

Have you actually read some of the additional details on here? Many times the question was much better without them. Then too, additional details appear as you are answering or afterwards... There have been a few times that I've missed a part of the details or didn't read them.

I agree with everyone I have a tippman 98 that I used at D DAY Oklahoma and didn't have a problem with it or you could go with a X7 from tippman. BT doesn't make a bad marker.
