What's your favorite song about Elvis?

Hadn't heard this one in a while until the other night at a karaoke bar. She nailed it too.

Black Velvet - Alannah Myles

My favourites have already been listed, so I am not going to reply with the same answers.

Of course I can only list the ones I have heard, but there is dozens of them out there. Some but not all, are listed here at this wiki link.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_about_o...

Some others I like that haven't already been listed by other members here

Bill Medley - Old Friend (this is a beautiful sad song paying tribute to the king of rock 'n' roll.)

Tamara Walker - Cry Like Memphis (not sure of the singer. Only a guess)

Bill Parsons - All American Boy (reading the youtube comments, there is some dispute as to who the actual singer is)

Black Velvet probably is the best and most known Elvis tribute other than Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen.

I had no idea that song was about Elvis. I was always just mesmerized by how pretty Alannah was and the cool funky song. Boy do I feel like a dummy now.

I agree with you on that one. Elvis Presley was an artist with diverse talents. He wrote, directed, acted, composed, and performed. He was kind to animals and he loved his neighbor. That is a gem. Robin Crosby also did well. His contributions with the guitar set arenas on fire. He also had a strong voice. When I think of songs with a message then I think of "Round And Round" and "You're In Love". Of course these are love songs. "Dance" is another inspiring song. Some artists will write instrumentals. Solos and instrumentals are entertaining as well. Instrumentals are interesting because of the energy and quality put into them. Pink Floyd and Metallica write wonderful instrumentals. RATT could deliver the rhythm, bass, and vocals for encore crowds.
