Is Google's re-branding of the Android Market to Google Play a big mistake?

What about people who work, read books or need directions ??

Update:

I am almost tempted to buy an iPad to find out what is in the Toy Shop

Update 2:

The stupid icon says 'Play Shop' I am definately buying an iPad.

Update 3:

I presume the next version of Android will be Rhubarb Crumble, rather bitter and hard to swallow.

I think Google Play sounds nice, but then again, 'Android' is becoming a household name and getting a good reputation.

As with many things Google does, it can be confusing. You're right, people wouldn't equate 'Google Play' with a place where you could download business apps, for example.

I did notice that Apple are keen to position the iPad 3 as a gaming device, so maybe it's in response to that.
