Does anybody have recipes for some Irish snack foods?
I'm going to a whisky tasting on Saturday, and have been asked to bring munchies.
I'd like some real, authentic recipes. Not stuff that is un-Irish and gunked up with green food colouring.
Thanks!

a very simple and nice savoury snack is potato cakes.
Get well mashed potatoes. Let cool, mix with flour until you get a nice doughy nonsticky consistancy. Roll until they are about 1/4 of inch thick. use knife to cut the dough into small circular 'cakes'. Fry gently and for a short time in butter. you can either snack on the cold, or reheat them and serve buttered.
Simple but VERY tasty.

If he is around 18mo to 3, I think snaking is a good idea. they like "Pretty" food. Use the small paper plates, cheese slices, tomato wedges, cherry tomatoes cut in half, any veggie that catches their eye, all fruit slices, any finger food, Put a little at a time .Don't fill up the plate.
