Need help installing windows 7 pro 64bit from iso file?
I purchased a large chunk of RAM for my desktop not realizing that my system doesn't support that amount because it is a 32 bit OS. I just bought windows 7 Pro (same version I currently have but not the same bit) 64 bit version. I bought the OS in an iso file and I'm trying to mount it and run it but it keeps coming up with an error that it's not supported and that I need to restart my computer with the installation disk inserted upon restart. What am I doing wrong that is causing these errors?

Just burn it to a dvd, then boot from it. Or you can run it from a jump drive if you have one big enough.
Right click on it, left click open with windows disc burner. Burn it to dvd, restart, load from disc, install.
If you wish to do it the jump drive way, follow this.

The .iso file requires you to burn it to a DVD or a USB flash drive that's autobooting, my friend.
The reason you're getting the error that you are is because your mounted image isn't autobooting, which is a requirement of installing Windows 7.
