What is the difference between windows 2000 and millennium edition?

    Windows ME came before windows 2000, I actually had windows ME on one of my old computers it was not sold very long because soon after Windows 2000 and Windows XP had come out way faster and much more stable, also ME had so many problems it gave me a headache I did not know this but apparently it was named "Windows Mistake Edition"

    windows me was installed on a fat32 partition, it was designed for the home user,

    then came xp home edition

    windows 2000 was installed on an ntfs partition, it was one of the first to use the new technology file system (ntfs) which is still used by windows today, including win8,

    win2000 evolved into xp professional and was designed for business use, including servers/proliants
