I'm not concerned with the cost, I am more bothered about the warmth and what size heather I should use

You should get a oil filled electric heated .cheap to run and safe to have in a garage confined space they have a inbuilt safety cut of thermostat switch . Any other kind in a garage that is insulated.wil let out fumes .not good .oil filled electric heaters are best.
