At what age do ferrets reach adulthood?

Spayed/neutered or intact, male and female please.

Thanks.

They are sexually mature at 5-6 months, same for males and females. Ferrets behave like kids until they die.

From all the info I've read (and what my vet told me), ferrets really shouldn't be spayed/neutered until they reach adulthood. This can be tricky with females as they do have to be spayed around 5 months if you don't plan on breeding with them.

They believe they are ''adults'' when they are 6 months old. They would be 12 years in human years when they are at the age of 1.
