Best Gaming Laptop under the $1000 mark? Which can play...?

I'm going to buy a new Desktop PC, it will be dedicated to gaming. However I only want to spend up to $1000 on the PC itself. Preferably something with i5 or i7. It should also be able to play games like Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Call of Duty, Crysis and other games on high settings. Any ideas would be much appreciated, cheers.

    Make up your mind...

Do you want desktop or laptop for gaming???

I advise getting a gaming desktop, as laptops were never intended for gaming, and will always have a much higher price and offer much lower performance.

For a gaming desktop, best solution is to build one. Very easy to do. Even a 13 year old can build a computer nowadays, I've seen lots of kids here that did that.

Buy all parts on newegg.com, they even have instructional videos on how to build a PC:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw&feature...

Best gaming PC build for the money:

Budget processor: Intel Core i3-2130 ($150) - best budget dual core processor. Or at least Intel Core i3-2100 ($125)

Best value and performance processor: Intel Core i5-2500K ($225)

For any processor above, get a motherboard with socket LGA1155 and chipset Z68, at least this $120 GIGABYTE GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard:

A good after market processor cooler (heat sink and fan), like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 ($30)

Both the processor and the motherboard feature fast dual channel memory, so only buy RAM in identical pairs, to enable dual channel memory operation.

    Memory: either a very minimum of 4GB (two x 2GB), or best 8GB (two x 4GB) DDR3 1600 G.Skill Ripjaws X Series or Corsair Vengeance ($30 up to $47 or $50 for Corsair Vengeance)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... (8GB two x 4GB)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... (8GB two x 4GB)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... (4GB two x 2GB)

At least a 500GB (1TB would be best) Seagate Barracuda or Samsung Spinpoint SATA III (6.0Gb/s) 7200rpm 64MB Cache hard drive ($86 and up)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

A good graphics card, at least a GeForce GTX460 Fermi or AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6790 (or better), choose any with a 2200 score or higher from this benchmark list:

    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.ht...

The best graphics card would be GeForce GTX590 or GTX580

A good power supply, 600 watts or bigger (depends on the graphics card you choose), 80 plus certified form Thermaltake, Enermax, Cooler Master, Antech, Corsair or OCZ.

Any PC Case (full or mid tower), with bottom mount for the power supply, either ATX or μATX (micro ATX) size.

I recommend either any of the Sentey Series (Sentey Extreme Division Arvina is what I got) or Cooler Master HAF ($60 to $150)

    http://www.newegg.com/Store/Brand.aspx?Brand=13670...

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Sub...

Optical drive: any cheap $15 to $25 DVD multi writer drive

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM for your operating system ($100):

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

Cost: From $800 on up to over $1500, depending on processor, graphics card, power supply and case you choose.

    Good luck.

check the midrange system in this link

    http://pcper.com/hwlb

look for a system that has similar specs to that

i5 2500k is more than your ever gonna need for gaming, spending any more than that is just gonna be a waste of cash which can go to more important parts like the graphics card

    something like this
