cavalier z24 misfiring (p0301 code)?

Question

my 2002 cavalier z24 (LD9) is misfiring when the engine has a load. the hotter the ambient temperature, the more it will misfire. Over the last year, i have replaced the feul pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator, spark plugs and connectors. i am thingking it is a spark problem because i sprayed starting fluid in the intake and it didnt help with the misfire.... could it be the coil cover/ distributor. the white plastic thing that covers the coils. i inspected it, and it seems fine. could it actually be that even though it looks alright? thanks in advance! OH, and it has a p0301 code, which means that cylinder #1 is misfiring. the CEL comes on and starts flshing and remains on, sometimes it will go away until i give it too much gas, load up the engine too much,  which will make it come back on and the procedure starts all over again.

change yor distribitor and plugs and wires and that should fix it

check the #1 spark plug and wire. it could have a bad plug or a bad wire. that is the most likely place the problem will be.

the element i'd examine first might want to be the plugs for those cylinders its plausible it were given plugs moist and shorted them out,and they'll coach to fireplace yet not below compression,secondly it would want to have stumped the computer on it,attempt eliminating the battery cable to work out if it may help erase it,i want i had it in the save,that would want to be a competent one to artwork on,identity test the computer and see if any difficulty codes seem on it,that one even has me stumped inspite of the truth that ,the in effortless words element i'd have did in yet differently might want to were to disconnect the coil %. do it may not get any fireplace,this type their might want to have not been any risk of it unfavourable something,reliable success looking it,i want understand what it really is once you locate it,
