Hijabis: Exercise tips for summer?
As-salaamu alaykum, ladies. This will be my first summer wearing hijab. (I started wearing hijab last fall.) I like to go running and skating. I have been ok so far with exercising in hijab, but summer is coming up, and I am a little worried that I will overheat. Do you all have any tips for me? A few items of note: one - I cannot get a treadmill and run indoors, because I don't have the money, and I don't have air conditioning. Two - I cannot join a gym, because, again, I don't have the money, and because I always run/skate with my dogs, so they get exercise as well. Three - I do have a sports hijab (Queendom Hijabs - yay product placement!), which is marvelous, so I won't have all kinds of layers around my neck. Four - I live in Ohio. (So you know the climate I live in.)
Thank you for your responses.
@Bai - Thanks. Don't worry, I always wear loose clothing. I actually started with that before wearing a khimar. It is a pain to try to find hijab-friendly exercise attire though. I pretty much just wear men's exercise clothing (no pink :'( ), because none of the women's stuff is loose, but even the men's stuff is getting tighter nowadays. I don't know why anyone would want to wear tight clothes during exercise. They're so uncomfortable. I got used to wearing loose stuff in the military, way before I considered wearing hijab, so I know I could never wear the tight stuff.
@Denisedds - Please explain to me how hijab is disrespectful. Every Muslim I have met since I started wearing hijab was delighted by my wearing it. Yes, nuns do "walk the streets in costume." I am sorry, but you seem to be a little misinformed. Many Catholic nuns have, indeed, changed their attire, but Orthodox nuns still wear the same outfit they have worn for centuries. It looks exactly like hijab. And you didn't answer my question. Please answer my question respectfully.
Thank you for your responses, everyone.

Haha I live Columbus actually:) just make sure you drink lots of water and I try not to go between 12-5 because it's just too hot. Other than that, I heard there will be lots of bugs this summer due to the small winter, so good luck! Also, try to remember hijab isnt just covering its also loose clothing but that doesn't mean you can't be beautiful sister:D

I always do jumping jacks which helps alot, start with 2-300 and as weeks pass by do more and more. And for your stomach to be more firmer I dance, and sometimes (rarely) do crunches. But that does it for me. I can't think of anything else, or you cam just run in place maybe. Hope this helps:)

You shouldn’t be wearing a hijab at all it is very disrespectful.
EDIT: Nuns don’t walk the streets wearing costumes and the asker is not a nun.
