Why do people diss fantasy romance?
Not all of them are Twilights! There are some wonderful authors out there that write much better than Stephanie Meyers and shouldn't be brought down by the whole Twilight mania. It's not fair to them. Get over the Twilight thing and give good writers a chance, please!
Good books to change your mind? Sure. The Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris are wonderful. Of course they fall under the category of horror and mystery as well as fantasy and romance. The Darkest Powers books by Kelley Armstrong are great, too.
Twilight is over-rated. And the movies are horrible, even though there are very good actors in them. But people shouldn't discard the rest because they've had a bad experience with Twilight.

People often diss things they don't understand, it's just ignorance. I don't diss any genres, certain ones just aren't for me.

I agree! People might be prejudiced against this particular genre, but there are certainly some great books out there. I think you'd really enjoy reading the book Stardust, by Neil Gaiman. If you want to take a look at its plot summary to see if it's for you, I found a great one on a site called The Plot Spot. http://theplotspot.net/

Because it's considered pulp fiction. It's a guilty pleasure to read. Same applies to most horror and action novels.
