I have Fibromyalgia, Do you?

About 10 weeks ago I read about a European Fibro. study. The patients used a muscle relaxant. About 30% had relief. Soooo, I figured it was worth a try.

I took it to my Dr. and he prescribed Flexeril for me to take 3 times a day as needed. The deep muscle pain had me on Vicodin for 5 years and needless to say he was getting concerned. After so many years of sleeping poorly and never feeling rested I took the first Muscle relaxant and slept 15 hours the first day, 12 the second. I then started taking one each night and sleep like a baby, and wake feeling rested and nearly pain free. ASTOUNDING. My painful body feels almost normal after 5 years.

If you are in the pain I was ask your Doctor to give it a try and see if it works for you. I totally stopped the Vicodin immediately plus OTC sleeping pills. All of me feels amazing. I pray that those of you who have Fibromyalgia will give it a try and have the same relief I have had.

    Hi Samm

I 'm a nurse in Canada. I'm glad I was browsing the site because you got really bad medical info above.

Your doctor knows what he is doing because Flexeril is being used for fibromyalgia with very positive results. I can't tell you how happy I am that you're doing so well. I'm quite familiar with fibromyalgia because I' ve has it myself for 45 years.

Thanks for sharing your good news, it made my day and may help others!!!! I want to encourage you to get your medical advice from your doctor because as you have already found out many times if you're like me, lots of kind people think they are giving good advice and trying to be helpful but are not qualified to give advice.

    Best wishes!

If a muscle relaxer worked for you, then you don't have fibromyaglia. You were most likely misdiagnosed. Before I was diagnosed, I was given every prescription for muscle pain and then narcotics you can think of. It never relieved the pain. It just either knocked my butt out and kept me asleep for almost 24 hours, or the narcotics put me in a state of mind that I couldn't even think of reacting to the pain.

It's good that you are no longer in pain though, and are no longer forced to take Vicodin, as I know I hate when I have to resort to that. But you most likely didn't have an actual case of fibro. As fibro is a disease that has to do with the nerves, and pain relievers and muscle relaxers don't help with the pain.
