Leaking Water from Ford Fiesta?

Hi i recently had my water light come on after the engine heat level went past normal, i check the water level and it was empty, it obviously has a leak somewhere but i dont know how to find it or if its something serious?

I have to refill the water about every 3 weeks currently and drive the car about 40 miles everyday.

Well, there's obviously a serious leak and if you can't find it, then the car needs to go to a garage and get a pro to sort it out.

If you've been driving it while it's been overheated you've done serious damage to it, possibly 'new engine' damage.

    Ford Fiesta Coolant Leak

Since you are driving a water-cooled engine, the loss of coolant will eventually ruin the engine. Keep the radiator filled to the top when the engine is cold and fill the coolant recovery tank 3/4 full at the same time. Check the coolant level several timed daily when the engine is cold. **You have a cooling system leak. For now (emergency situation) you have two choices. #1. When you put the radiator cap on install it one click instead of two. #2. Go to Carquest and buy a four pound radiator pressure cap. A four pound cap will not allow a cooling system with a leak to build as much pressure which makes it leak faster.

Make an appointment with a trusted private mechanic or new car dealership and ask for an inexpensive *cooling system pressure test to see if you have an external or internal coolant leak. Get it fixed ASAP.

Take off your oil filler cap and see if the color inside the cap is black oil or a light creamy color. If creamy . You could have a head gasket problem ? Or open the bonnet and put car in neutral .start car and wait with car .Wait for it to get hot a spot any leaks from hoses or Radiator . Best use a torch .it will shine on any water leak ? Also have a garage check your thermostat . Could need a new one. Good luck

sure greater beneficial than in all probability it will be the water pump leaking. no remember if it particularly is, the sole element you're able to do is in super condition a sparkling water pump. What happens is the sealing gland gets worn & it leaks water out of a small hollow close to the fan/pulley. as long as you're taking water with you & verify it in many circumstances you are able to run it, yet not too a strategies & not too rapid. that's not a super deal. In universal palms it particularly is a rather elementary interest.

these fiestas suffer from 3 common cooling problems 1 would be thermostat housing leaks 2 waterpump leaks and occasionally the cylinder head core plugs leak which are next to the spark plugs. fix sooner than later as the engine will overheat and will break. could also have just hit a stone on your radiator. hope this helps

Get the car to a garage for diagnosis. Don't use a main dealer. Do this IMMEDIATELY and you may find it's just a loose hose or leaking radiator - most garages won't charge for diagnosis. Leaving this problem may result in severe engine damage and a four figure bill.
