Laws on underage drinking in privately hired venues? UK?
So, me and my friends were planning on hiring a hall in a hotel for our 17th birthday and was wondering what the laws about underage drinking actually say? If we hire the hall are we allowed to bring our own alcohol or will the hotel get in trouble if we're caught? We will be 17 but a majority of the guest will be 16.
I just wana know what the law actually states on this matter and whether the hotel would be the one that's liable or whether we would be?
Thanks :)

It's a private venue. That means as long as you're not buying it there, you can drink. But in theory you need parental consent.

it particularly is illegitimate to purchase alcohol while you're elderly under 18. it particularly is illegitimate to purchase alcohol proceeding to offer it to somebody who's elderly under 18. it particularly is legal to drink alcohol while elderly 7 or over. So the internet effect, is that if an grownup buys alcohol for themself, takes it domicile, then desperate to offer some to their new child it would be ok. for sure, if there have been 50 little ones on the celebration any alcohol could have been offered with the point of offering to to them, so the adults / dad and mom could have been to blame. yet that's not the variety of offence that it particularly is user-friendly to tutor afterwards.

You are too young to rent anything. Well, maybe skates but certainly not real estate.
