I'm out of ports on my router, can I attach a second one?

I ran out of ports. Can I attach a second router to one of the ports on my current one? I know I can't hook up a second modem, so it's really the only option I can think of without upgrading my router.

Advice?

Yes you can connect a second one to do that you need Two wireless routers, Broadband Modem, and 3 Ethernet cables

First Connect the broadband modem to the first wireless router via an Ethernet cable.

Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports of the second wireless router. Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into a LAN port on the first wireless router.

Connect the first wireless router to a computer by inserting an Ethernet cable into one of the available ports, then plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the computer. You need to do this so you can configure the connection. Plug in the first wireless router's power source and turn the power on.

Open the web browser on the first computer. In the address bar type "http://"/ followed by the IP address of the router. This can be found either on the device or on a card that came in the product's box. It will look something like "192.168....." Hit "Enter." A new window will appear asking for the router's user name and password. Do not type anything for the user name, and for the password type "admin." Click "OK" to finish the web setup, and the device's specific information page will load.

Look for where the "Local IP Address" is listed. Change the last number to a "2." This will allow the two routers to have separate IP addresses. They would not function properly if both were the same.

Disable the "DHCP Serving settings" and click "Save Settings." Select "Advanced Settings" and change the operating mode to "Route." Save the settings again. This will complete the online settings adjustments.

Power on both routers. With the different IP addresses and the configuration of the main wireless router complete, it now should be possible to use both wireless routers.

    Good Luck
