Air space for my subs?

So I have 2 ancient subs(Earthquake of San Francisco) that are 12" and 250 watts rms and 8 ohm's each I have no idea how much air space they need because I can't any info on them online. is it bad to give them too much air space in a ported or sealed box, and what would you guys suggest I do?

    Find a way to get in contact with the makers of the subs if you can.

    If you can not , and you find yourself with a box that is to small figure out how much

    polyfil you should use to stuff the box with. this will help so that the boxs preforms as if it were bigger. Other than that you should try digging a bit more to find out what size box you need.

    You can either build one, have someone build it for you or find a box that has already been made which isn't that hard
