While most people think multi-sports began in California or Hawaii in the '70 and '80's, we have discovered that Abraham Lincoln was the nations first multi-sport athlete in 1831.

After a stalemate in wrestling was called between young Abe and an opponent, Lincoln was challenged to a multi-sport dual in which he was to run, wrestle and fight an opponent.

Hello Z! I have read that Lincoln was considered one of the greatest wrestlers in his area and was known to be quite physically strong. You have to also consider that he grew up in very rough times where you ahd to read by candlelight and if you traveled it was by wagon or horse. Malcolm X of course ws known for his Nation of Islam beliefs and most likely had a few fights under his belt from time to time I'm sure. This is how I see this fight going: The fight Malcolm X would start of well landing his jab and moving around the ring gracefully. In round 7 Lincoln would land a big right hand followed by a left hook leaving Malcolm X in a heap on the canvas. Winner Abraham Lincoln KO7

LIncoln was a wrestler, but I dislilke the idea that you think you need a knowledge of athletics to overcome obstacles. You need knowledge, period, and Lincoln was a very intelligent and well-read man. That's how he overcame obstacles and solved problems.

Lincoln was an accomplished wrestler in his youth, and settled many disputes by winning matches.
