Information on a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport clutch?

I'm currently driving an 2003 Audi A4, which is known for having a VERY forgiving clutch

I haven't really driven other manual vehicles save an older VW

I'm looking to buy a Subaru (impreza) Outback Sport (year 2002-2006), and have heard from 1 friend of mine that the clutch is very stiff, and does not think I could handle it. Idk if it's just his P.O.S. WRX or regular for these cars

Obviously, I haven't been able to test drive one yet. However it is literally the perfect car for my lifestyle (AWD, smallish, hatchback, all-weather) These cars are very popular in my state (CA) so they sell so fast I cant even get a test drive in!! Super lame.

Wondering if anyone here who owns one of these cars can shed some light for me. I'm a 130lb girl... super stiff clutch pedals are not good for me!

Thanks

I own a '97 Subaru impreza outback sport and I have absolutely no problems with the clutch. In fact if you can drive a VW, which have some pretty crazy clutches then you will be fine. I will give one tip, you have to push the clutch all the way down, there is no half clutching on these cars. Have fun and enjoy your new car, oh and your friend is a dumba**!
