Is Government controlled health care a good idea?

We have watched government controlled education ruin our public schools. We have watched government controlled medicare cost skyrocket. Government controlled social security cost are not sustainable for the next generation. Why can liberals not learn from history? Most any service that has centralized government control will likely decrease quality and will likely not be financially sustainable.

Since the government funds these programs, they have the right to some control over them. Medicare cannot be a private program. Public education cannot be private. The programs have expanded from their original purpose to cover so many more people. I think that is the problem.

No one has ever proposed that the government "control" health care like the insurance companies do today. (As if THAT'S a better alternative?). If you're saying that you went to the public schools, then you may have an argument that the public schools don't work.

Every time you go to pay your insurance premium, you're paying for uninsured people who use the ER as their primary health care. This raises the cost hospitals charge for services, which in turn raises your insurance rates.

In light of this, one would think you would be interested in finding a working solution to this problem. Since your Republican heroes have ignored it for decades, it has fallen to Democrats to attempt a solution. If you don't like that solution, encourage your members of Congress to improve upon it.

Unless Republicans are re-writing ACA, health insurance is still controlled by private insurance companies. The government control nonsense is just political lies.

Considering all the unnecessary pain, disability and early death, it will cut down on the population and save Social Security a lot of money.

Europe's governments run the health care institutions...and they're going great. Plus, European schools are also under government, but are run much better.

Every single developed nation on earth other than the U.S. seems to think so.

Compare quality of life in Japan and Germany to quality of life in the U.S.. It's almost the difference between quality of life in the U.S. and some third world nations (no joke).

    Obviously not Obamacare.

900 million just went to 1.8 trillion.

Seniors hate it (the biggest users of healthcare by far and by dollars). Don't want it. They want Medicare, not 500 billion removed from Medicare to fund Obamacare.

They want to see their doctors that they want not stuffed to the back of the line trying to find doctors that won't treat them anymore because it costs them more to treat than to not.

  • The good intentions are all that matter to liberals. They dont care about the results. Damn the torpedos full speed ahead!
