    The Library of Congress is scanning newspapers for the years 1880 to 1922. : Free

    http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/

    under search pages I clicked on California then from 1910 to 1913 then in search box typed sacramento apartment fire and had 3 results.

    The San Fransisco paper "The Call" has Feb 3rd 1913 news article about it. "Four dead, One Dying And Ten Injured In Fire That Destroys Apartment Houses In Sacramento At Early Mourning Hour"

    Link to 3 results but if doesn't work then use instructions above:

    http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/search/pages/res...

    searchType=basic

    Addition Feb 4th issue of The Call with a search of just st nicholas apartments details of the life of victim Miss Nora Lawrence, adopted by the Harmons and her "foster" sister Mrs. E.J. Wickson claimed body for burial in Berkley.

    Also known as the St. Nicholas Hotel

    Looking at the names of the others in newspaper and doing a Sacramento city directory search 1913, a Albert Fehr lived at 1326 I St and Walter E Fehr lived a 1316 I St. The school teacher Miss Clara Morrissey lived at 1316 I St and R.E. (Robert) Cannell also lived at 1316 I St So looks like the apartment house was on 1316 I (Eye) Street.

    edit: the apt house faced I street on the corner of 4th so had I street addresses in 1913, when hotel built after remains of house removed the "new front door" of was made on 4th street instead, creating the newer 4th street address.

    From my research, the address is 1118 Fourth St, Sacramento, CA 95814, where you'll currently find a parking garage for Westfield's Downtown Plaza.
