My 1982 el Camino with a 406 Stroker and a turbo350 Trans.my Transmission went out ?
I bougt a new torque converter and a Transmissiom that sat up 11 months with no fluid in it.it go in reverse good but drive I have to get on the gas to 3000 to make it move

OK you're going to have to spend some money for a rebuilt transmission and another torque convertor to match the engine specs... A junkyard trans is a waste of money when you have that much motor in front of it... you might consider a transmission shop and a quality rebuild along with a shift kit installed with a 1200-1700 stall convertor to run behind the stroker engine..with stall speed being based on your camshaft performance curve, it's hard to guess how much stall you need for street drivability.
