Peeling a hard-boiled egg can be frustrating when the peel sticks to the white of the egg. You can help prevent this, however, by altering your cooking technique. Also, consider using eggs that are 14 days old; fresher eggs will be more difficult to peel.

    You'll Need

    Large pot

    White vinegar

    Salt

    Instructions

    1

Place water in a large pot. Add desired number of eggs. Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of white vinegar to the water and a pinch of salt and bring it to a boil for two minutes.

    2

Cover the pot and remove it from the heat. Let it stand for 11 minutes. When eggs are done, remove them from water and allow them to cool.

    3

Crack the shell at both ends of the egg and begin removing the eggshell, which should come off easily.

How to 'Peel' Hard-Boiled Eggs Without Peeling.Hard-boiled eggs can be annoying and time consuming to peel. In this video, master of time management Tim Ferris (author of the great book, The Four Hour Work Week), demonstrates how easy it is to get the egg without having to peel it!

    Instructions:

Cover the eggs with water and boil on low for about 12 minutes

Cool the eggs by placing them in cold water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and ice. The baking soda raises the pH level and reduces adherence. If you choose not to use baking soda, be sure to move the eggs into cold water with plenty of ice immediately after boiling

Crack the top of the egg and remove a small piece

Crack the bottom (wide end) of the egg and remove a small piece

Hold the egg in your hand and blow vigorously into the narrow end of the egg, which will expel it out the wide end

Doesn’t get much easier than that! Just be ready to catch it when it comes out…

I'm actually surprised by how many people don't know such an easy way to peel hard boiled eggs. Boil the eggs with salt. When you're ready to peel, instead of cracking the shell, set it on a hard surface such as a counter top and roll while slightly pressing on the egg. It'll shred the shell and then you simply peel off the shell with your fingers. It works EVERY time. Good luck!

If you want hard boiled eggs that are easy to peel, make sure they are several days old. New eggs do not peel easily. After eggs are boiled well, drain the eggs and fill the pot with cold water. You can aslo out some ice cubes in the water. Letting the eggs sit in the cold water until the eggs are completely cooled helps the papery membrane stick to the shell, instead of to the egg, and makes the egg easier to peel.

Eureka, you have found it. Cold Storage eggs that you get from the grocery store can be boiled and peeled as described by all the posters., The process does not work with fresh eggs right out the chicken. Especially if the chickens are free range and eat every thing from snails to snakes, the shells are tougher, and the yokes are deeper yellow. Stay tuned, I am gonna do an experiment. We get about a dozen fresh eggs daily;., I'm gonna put some aside,, and date them, I'm gonna do some right out of the grommet., and some on a daily, weekly , and monthly basis., Also a factor to be considered , fertile or no fertile eggs., it could make a difference

hardly a recipe - just use older eggs, and boil as normal, and then plunge straight into cold water. The older egg is safe, but easier to peel, and the plunging into water stops a grey rim forming around the yolk which is not very pretty and for some people who eat with their eyes, is rather off putting.

    Put vinegar in the water.

    Add eggs to cold water.

Bring to a boil, then cover.

    Remove from burner.

    Let stand for 10 minutes.

    Remove eggs from pot.

    Transfer to empty pot.

Let cold water run over eggs.

Tap shells on hard surface to crack.

    Remove shells under cold water.

Put some vinegar in the water whie you boil them.

Then, stick them in the refriger for at least 30 minutes (the cooled air helps them peel better).

When you peel, if you are having problems, run them under a little bit of water.

    Voila.
