Actually the EM spectrum is infinite in range but there is a classification based on their physical effect.

1.Gamma Rays Can penetrate the matter and pass through it.Used in Radio Graph.Cancer treatment

2.X-Rays less stronger then Gama rays.Invisible,can pass through materials.Useful in the study of crystalline structure(Von Laue).Used in Medical radiography

3.Visible Light.The well known radiation and makes our daily life possible.Photography,Photosynthesis,Things appear colorful,because of selective absorption or scattering etc.

4.Light at the blue end of the spectrum.Invisible.Kills Bacterias,Causes Skin cancer,Some cases Photoelectric effect.

5.Infrared,light beyond red end of the spectrum.Sensible as Heat.Responsible for atmosphere heating.Nowadays Infra red camera to see night vision.

6.Radio waves.Includes Microwaves,Radio waves etc used for communication purposes.

Used in Astronomy.
