If you change an engine car control unit do you think the car be okay afterwards?
I have a vw passat and we need to change it, would this cause more problems in the future!

With many cars this will require the car to be put onto a computer (probably VAGCOM) to allow the new ECU to be synched to the car - you should check this.
Other than that there should be no problems as long as it really is the ECU that is the fault

Just caught the comment on your last question: It's very, very rare to have to change the ECU on a car, but if that's where the fault was then a replacement will be fine, you shouldn't have any more worries.
