WTH ! ! it is the the 21st century and we are getting worse trouble with plugs ?? just want to scream out ! !?
if someone have reached to a solution I'll be so happy, I am getting really furious about this ... we reached to Uranus (the moon is an old thing now) ... a child now play with a computer with a processor that even the pentagon didn't have 100 years ago ....
BUT
we still have trouble with plugs ....
no electrical plug fit in its socket ....
and more ! ! !
my microphone plug is not fitting well in my laptop ! ! ! it connect & disconnect with simple touch ! ! !
when I rotate it in its socket or insert it more or less it frequently connect - disconnect ...
I plug it in, and then just by start recording I find that it didn't record anything, the mic is perfectly functioning but when I touch the plug and rotate it in its socket it re-connect .... ! ! !
when are we going to have fit , non-disconnecting plug-socket ! ! !

You'll find one of two things are causing your problem:
• Dirt
• Bent terminal contacts
The first one is easy to fix. You need a really thin cleaning swab (you can make something to do the job) and a contact cleaner. You can use Electrical contact cleaners, solvents such as WD40 that advertise the ability to clean metals, or even small amounts of soapy water!
Carefully use your swab around the inside of the socket with your laptop turned off and the battery unplugged to try and clean the contacts with your solvent. You may not even be able to see the dirt that comes off, but it does!
For the second cause, it's a bit more difficult. It often results from being too forceful with the connectors, so the metal prongs no longer sit on the metal jack. If you're lucky enough to see the pins in the socket, a tiny flat-head screw driver can help you carefully pry the pins back towards the centre of the socket. Make sure you power off your laptop and take out the battery!
If not, you may disassemble the laptop following video instructions and do a general service, or maybe more conveniently, have a PC repair service do it for you.

People are making recordings all day every day without any problems. Do you think it might be your cheap computer that is the problem?
