Use drip irrigation where water is supplied in small quantities but more directly to the plant roots to minimize water wastage.
Practice soil mulching to reduce soil water loss via evaporation.

I think we need a Sustainable agriculture system....Need to enhance the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole and also need to stop exporting the water....
