Is the difference between Mac users and Windows users simply economic, or are Mac users smarter?

Macs are pretty nice - I never had any of the computer problems that I hear people around me talking about who have PC machines. But there are really no games for Macintosh.

I like how you place the "smarter" with Mac users. It's all about what your needs are and which system best fulfills those needs. Thinking one OS makes you smarter has in fact placed you into the "dumb" category in my opinion. If you have $900 to spend trying to make a gaming machine, it would be smarter to go with a Windows computer. If you're looking for ease of mind, deal primarily with multimedia, and don't mind spending a bit more, Mac would be a better choice. If you like building your own machines and upgrading various parts yourself, a Windows machine would be better.

You can't just claim that one is superior to the other for every user. That's just plain dumb. What's funny is that most of these comments I see on various websites about users of a certain operating system being cooler or smarter... come from Mac users. Most of them are probably spoiled kids that got a pretty new computer from mommy.

Computers are tools when it comes down to it. You should choose your tools based on what tasks need to be carried out.

Windows PC-

Pros:

Can add and replace custom parts as needed

do own service - replacement parts easy and cheap to come by

Can build a mid range gamer desktop for $800

Cons:

Windows Registry errors

need to purchase or install extra antivirus software

have to hunt for drivers if you lose your hard drive

Mac

Pro:

Nice materials, good looking!

Feels smooth to the touch

Os is integrated with computer user experience meaning everything to work together

Sharp intuitive graphic user interface

Decent battery life and weight

can still run widows!

good phone support in warranty

excellent BSD capabilities

Cons:

Mac Pro Towers $1800+

If an apple part breaks then you have to send into apple ..

its a closed system can not really modify

For work I use a 15" macbook pro laptop. very stable and decent battery. Great os and allows me to work without being harassed about updates!

that doesnt make sense. Windows is so popularly used, all kinds of people use windows. On the other hand people who buy macs are probably the kind of ppl that require other's approval, so they buy overpriced laptops to somehow impress their friends

the only reason windows has more viruses is because it has more users (more targets). put it this way, your hunting for your life, you have one gun, one bullet. Would you shoot at 1 deer in a forest, or an entire herd of deer

Mac users are with out a doubt smarter!!!!

mac users and windows users are economic mac users slightly stupid for over paying for that crap

i use linux and i can tell you it requires alot more brain to use

MAC users pay more for less, you figure it out.
