can i substitute a stand mixer procedure with a hand mixer?

i was looking to make marshmallows and all the recipes i have read so far call for a stand mixer. i'd have to go and buy it, just to make marshmallows......

has anyone tried making them with an electrical hand mixer?

also what is the cost of a stand mixer in INDIAN RUPEES??

    You can use a hand held mixer, but your arm and hand will get very tired because the marshmallow mixture has to be mixed on high speed for up to 15 minutes. If you are able to commit to that kind of time and can switch from one hand to the other periodically, then you can make them.

    In the U.S., we have no idea of the exchange rate for rupees. You would know that better. The lowest price on a Kitchen Aid stand mixer would be about $150.00 USD.
