This is incredibly easy... If you have Photoshop or Gimp, all you have to do is put the words on top of the image where you want it. Then set the word's layer to "Multiply", and the white disappears.
If the word is on a black background (instead of white), set the word's layer to "screen" and it will make the black disappear
I used pixlr.com's photo editing program. I first opened the image by choosing the url of the first image. Then I opened the image of the word using its url. I selected all of the word image, copied, then pasted onto the image. Then I set the blend mode of the word layer to multiply, and it easily got rid of the white.
I mean, it helps to be familiar with the program (because the blend modes for the layers is kind of hidden on pixlr's site), but.. the process in general is fairly easy
