Moving out at 20 years old?

So, I need to move out of my house pretty soon and I was wondering if I could do it making the $10 an hour I currently make. I might have to get a second job... But I seriously need some help figuring out how to move out. I have no clue how to find a cheap place to live or at leat a tolerable roommate. Any help is appreciated.

Are you seriously thinking about moving to D.C. with a $10/hour job? It is possible, but you will need to look for at least one roommate. The cheapest apartment that I found is $1,499, and if you work a 40 hour week, that is most of your pre-taxed salary for the month.

However, here is a good resource for prices on apartments: http://www.homes.com/rentals/DC/City/WASHINGTON/?o...

Check for rents in your price range. If you make $10/hour and work full time, you can probably afford a rent of about $750 to $800 a month. If you can find a place that includes most utilities, all the better. Add electric, cable and phone to that, gas if applicable. You might be able to work it without a roommate. Just keep your budget in mind.
