Nicotine replacement with either patches, gum or inhalator etc. is the commonest management

I may not have the correct answer ,but I can honestly say that I know how you feel. I am in the 5th week of the patch. The 1st week was a breeze. Ever since Ive been smoking 1-3 cigs a day. That's good I guess or at least better than the pack a day I was smoking. BUT WE CANNOT GIVE UP TRYING TO STOP COMPLETELY!!!!! I find myself yelling at the kids for the smallest things, getting pissed off because I cant find a parking space in the mall. And like you; constantly eating. We have to eat healthy stuff since we are constantly seeking that oral gratification. Do something with our hands like doodling or taking a walk when you have a craving. I'm in the same boat as you. MAY GOD BLESS US BOTH!!!

If u buy patches and then have a *** it will make u feel ducky, too much nicotine. The cravings are hard to deal with. When I stopped for me it was filling them gaps when I'd have a ***. Ie after dinner, in the morning etc. But when I thought about it, those gaps were only there because I created them through smoking. U find after time they naturally fill back up.

I started by making myself wait longer and longer between cigs -- today a half hour (I used to be a very heavy smoker!), tomorrow an hour, next week two hours...and pretty soon I only had a three-cig a day habit to stop, which made it much easier. I bought jars of dry roasted peanuts and munched on those whenever I got a craving for a cigarette. Also I washed/cleaned anything that smelled of smoke (including the inside of my car) so the smell wouldn't remind me of cigarettes. I also told myself that I'm not depriving myself of anything! I just didn't want a cigarette "right now."

I did this when I quit masturbating(For better health and energy). Simply observe your craving thoughts. A thought is just that. A thought. It does not need to be acted upon. You watch it until the craving subsides without attachment. No adding anything.
At least with whacking off, when I get a ***** if I watch that craving for long enough without adding anything. After like 10-20 minutes I lose the *****, and I don't lose my precious essence.
Source(s): 54 days and counting of no whacking off.
