New york manhattan or los angeles?

Hm, that's a tough one. New York City is the heart of the fashion industry, but it's very expensive to live here. It is also much harder to get a job here, so if you do it, you have to be the best. The best school for fashion is FIT which is in a pretty expensive area, the fashion district. If you have the money, than do it. That should be your first choice. There are so many great jobs and internships, you just have to be very good at it. But remember, New York City doesn't consist of just Manhattan. So you can also look into living in other boroughs.

Los Angeles is good, but cannot compare. It's second best but don't let that discourage you from looking into it. It's much cheaper to live in Los Angeles than to live in New York. It is much easier to get a job or an internship in LA, but not by that much. Los Angeles is also a less developed city than New York. It's more quiet and the weather is much better. In New York it snows and gets over cold; but in Los Angeles the nights aren't too bad.

I have been to both. I would say New York, for these reasons.

1. New York is closer to everything, and the fashion hubs of the world (Paris, Milan etc).

2. New York has more chances for employment.

3. New York has a greater fashion scene.

4. There is more to do in New York. Los Angeles is very boring after a while.

5. With New York, you can walk and take the metro to get around. Los Angeles is very car reliant.

6. Los Angeles is very expensive. For everything. It is also very pretentious.

For fashion you should pick to go to NYC (New York City) because there are a lot of opportunities for example we have New york fashion week here and if you study hard you can probably on of the designers one day there are also many other opportunities. And yes i have been there because i live there. If all the answers that you get don't help you should try to do some research.

They have fashion week. It's the US capital for fashion. The near by cities have cute boutiques and thrift stores.

Have you even APPLIED to any schools in NYC or Los Angeles???

If not, the time has not come. You will know it has come when you are actually accepted at particular schools in particular places, and THEN have to decide between them.
