Are there nail treatments at the salon that won't damage my nails?
So my birthday is coming up and I was thinking about going to the nail salon. The salon I want to go to charges $30-$60 depending on the treatment but I have been there before and everything is sanitary. I don't really want a regular manicure but I don't want my natural nails to be damaged either. I was thinking about getting glitter tips but my sister got acrylic nails and they ruined her natural ones. She removed them herself, so was that to blame for the damage?

To be honest, yes, there will be longterm damage from acrylics and the same for gels. They say gels are better for your nails but they were so miserable to take off. I prefer acrylics and nobody could tell the difference.
Regardless of who takes them off, they still drill and file down your natural nail bed. I don't mind it though. I took my acrylics off 3 months ago and my nails are JUST about to be done healing. And i'll go get some more soon.
I love them and you gotta pay to play.
You can still pamper yourself though. Paraffin treatments, a regular manicure, they're all options! Don't ask the ladies at the salon what's damaging and what's not, they'll take anybodies money and can be pushy. Just decide for yourself and weigh the pros and cons.
