computer monitor problem?

I have an LG Flatron w2361vg. My pc is always on and the screen goes into sleep mode as it should after a spell of inactivity. Recently it has started going black except for a large LG in the center. The only way to get it to display anything else is to unplug it and plug it back in. It wont turn on and off or anything else when this happens, has to be unplugged. Have I screwed up some setting or is this just a problem with the monitor. Works fine after plugging it back in. Thanks for any info.

May be the problem points towards hardware, as you said that it woks fine after re-plugging it. Check the VGA cable of your monitor and also check its socket. If there are no issues try updating your Video Driver. That may fix the problem. You can do that by opening the "RUN Command" and then type in "devmgmt.msc" This should open Device manager and from the you must select your display driver and then update it. This will solve your problem and if problem persists contact your vendor.
