How many evolutionists could tell me the full name of Origin of the Species without looking it up?
When asked in February, Richard Dawkins couldn't.
I have studied evolution and agree that it has much going for it. It is a little disheartening in the way people draw conclusions about me and my intentions based on what I haven't said.

I will wager to guess not many. I will also say that 90% of them do not really understand the theory they cling to at all. I have yet to have someone (outside the university classroom, and even half of them) who really can explain evolution correctly. They mix all these differing theories of evolution together. They will risk their souls on something they do not really comprehend. It is amazing to me. Very Sad!!!!

What? On the Origin of the Species?
Why would that matter? It's an outdated book from over a century ago (though it does have historical value) that has been vastly improved by modern day discoveries in the fields of paleontology, geology, and especially genetics.
Unlike some people, science has no requirement to follow a single book. Instead, it follows the evidence.

1) There's no such thing as an "evolutionist". There's only people who are knowledgeable enough to understand the concept and know it is proven true, and the rest of the people who are ignorant.
2) Who gives a f*ck? Evolution is true whether or not the books are even written about it, let alone whether people remember the full name arbitrarily given to any of the books.
It's not like your religion, which comes from a book in its entirety and does not exist in actual reality.

You are merely playing semantics. The name isn't what is important, it's the content. As some have also stated, it's quite outdated however it still has value nonetheless.
I would bet numerous biologists wouldn't be aware of the full name, the full title is rarely ever used and when it is, one could easily pass it off as a description.

I can...but it doesn't mean what you probably think it means.
"On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life."
And no, by "races" he wasn't talking about white and black people.
And so what if somebody can't remember the full title? It's been known as "Origin of Species" for 150 years...
peace.

Does it matter? No...of course not.
We don't have holy books that are followed word for word. If a PhD level biologist missed it, it's because he read it as an undergrad, and hasn't directly referred to it since. What they do look at is modern peer reviewed papers.

It doesn't matter as though it is interesting from a historical viewpoint, it is very outdated as he could not know about about over 150 years of solid scientific evidence

And this proves what?
It proves that you are a closed minded individual that must lash out at the things you do not understand instead of learning the truth.

Right. Can you name every book of the bible in order without looking it up?
Can you recite any single bible verse i pick?
Can you even tell me what you had for lunch 2 weeks ago to this day?
Your logic fails. And so do you.

who cares?
You think knowing the full title of a book is important rather that whats inside it?
- Anonymous9 years ago
that doesn't disqualify the 150 years of evidence in support of evolution or his numerous awards
